Lucid Group posted a worse-than-expected third-quarter loss as it grapples with sluggish production of its Gravity SUV and a challenging trade environment.

GXO Logistics reported revenue and earnings growth during the third quarter, its first under the leadership of new CEO Patrick Kelleher, the company reported Nov. 5.

The Greenwich, Conn.-based LTL carrier reported net income of $82 million for the three months ending Sept. 30. That compared with $95 million the previous year. 

Rivian Automotive reported a smaller-than-expected loss in a sign of progress as the EV maker cuts costs and staff ahead of plans to begin deliveries of a new midsize SUV next year.

"Strong West Coast shipping demand in September continued through October, and our customers are indicating that will be maintained into November," CEO Phil Yeager says.

Operating income for the three months ended Sept. 30 came in at $1.11 billion, the company said in a statement Nov. 4. Analysts were expecting $1.62 billion.
