This is the first time that consumers in the company’s home market will be able to try out the technology.

The Seattle-based company said it started testing the express delivery service late last year and expanding it this month.

Walmart, which had been the largest company by revenue for more than a decade, reported sales of $713.2 billion for the 12 months ending Jan. 31. Amazon earlier reported 2025 sales of $717 billion.

Greg Foran led Walmart's U.S. division for six years before departing in 2019. While there, he introduced online ordering and pickup, and accelerated Walmart's digital capabilities.

Modernization is slated to start next year at Walmart's Opelousas distribution center near Interstate 49 and U.S. Route 190. The facility is located some 60 miles west of Baton Rouge.

Recent investments in artificial intelligence have helped supercharge the stock’s advance. Walmart has been pushing to incorporate AI across its operations.

Autonomous startup Gatik signed a deal with a major consumer goods company that will double its contracted revenue to $600 million, helping to build out its business in the U.S. and Canada.

David Guggina, who has been the chief e-commerce officer of Walmart U.S., has been promoted to CEO of the division — the company’s biggest and most important business.
