Truckers and legislators in half of the 10 states that automatically adopted California’s Advanced Clean Trucks regulation are trying to put the brakes on before the 2025 rules take effect.

Westport Fuel Systems’ loss narrowed in the third quarter, due in part to the company’s decision to recognize its heavy-duty truck operations as an equity investment on its financial ledger.

“The whole EV ecosystem is ahead of the consumer,” Toyota North America COO Jack Hollis said, pointing to tailpipe emission rules from the EPA and California.
