The U.S. Postal Service has selected FedEx board member David Steiner to be the country’s next postmaster general, the agency announced May 9.

U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has resigned, hastening his previously announced departure as the nation’s postal agency looks to stem financial losses and overhaul its operations.

The U.S. Postal Service has signed an agreement with DOGE and the General Services Administration to help the agency in “identifying and achieving further efficiencies.”
