The Canadian prime minister said more meetings are taking place in Washington involving officials including Michael Sabia, Canada’s top civil servant.

“If we don’t win that case, our country is going to suffer so greatly,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “These deals are all done; I guess we’d have to unwind them.”

“Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against The United States of America,” Trump said on his Truth Social site.

Trump told reporters that the U.S. would appeal to the high court for relief as soon as Sept. 3 because “it would be a devastation for our country” if the appeals court ruling was left in place.

“President Trump has not put tariffs on China because those negotiations are ongoing. And the war in Ukraine is certainly part of that discussion,” U.S. Ambassador Matthew Whitaker said.

While a slight improvement from 48 in July, details of the ISM report were mixed and the gauge remained below the level of 50 that separates expansion and contraction.

Trump said in a social media post Sept. 1 that India offered to reduce its tariffs on U.S. goods to zero, without saying when the concession was made.

Tariff tensions are making the North American farm market the most uncertain in the world even as conditions in Europe and Asia start to improve.

Trillions of dollars of global trade are embroiled in the legal fight. A final ruling tossing Trump’s tariffs would upend his much-ballyhooed trade deals.

The announcement follows similar decisions by other national postal services that have suspended their shipping services to the U.S., including Japan, Britain and Australia.
