Volvo Trucks introduced two gas-powered, heavy-duty trucks that offer fuel efficiency and performance on par with that of diesel-fueled trucks, and comply with Euro 6 emissions regulations.

The idea was nothing short of revolutionary: Convert the nation’s millions of trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles to run on natural gas instead of gasoline and diesel.

The tightening of emissions limits for deep-water ships has some of North America’s busiest ports chasing a new opportunity.

Vehicle tailpipe and crankcase emissions are the highest sources of methane emissions from heavy-duty natural gas-fueled vehicles and the fueling stations that serve them, according to a study by West Virginia University scientists.
