Daseke Inc., one of the largest flatbed and specialized transportation companies in North America, announced on Sept. 5 it would replace its president and chief financial officer and fold three divisions into other parts of the corporation.

Don Daseke, chairman and CEO of Daseke Inc., will retire from the company effective immediately.

Daseke Inc. reported a net loss of $6.4 million, or 10 cents per share, in the quarter ended June 30, compared with net income of $13.5 million, or 22 cents per share, in the year-ago quarter.

Flatbed and specialized carrier Daseke Inc. reported May 6 that first-quarter revenue increased 32% to $433 million, compared with $327.6 million in the same period last year, but posted a decline in earnings due to increased investments.

Daseke Inc. reported March 9 that fourth-quarter revenue increased to $447 million from $257.2 million in the same period last year. The flatbed and specialized carrier said it represents the fifth consecutive quarter that year-over-year revenue growth has exceeded 70%.

Flatbed truckload carrier Boyd Bros. Transportation, headquartered in Clayton, Ala., opened a truck driving school Oct. 22. In a Nov. 1 press release, the company said Boyd Driving Academy would help students become safe and confident drivers upon graduation.

Flatbed and specialized trucking company Daseke Inc. reported strong growth for the second quarter of 2018, as acquisitions the growing company made during the past 12 months propelled its financial results.

Winnipeg, Manitoba-based Big Freight Systems, a division of Daseke Inc., on July 5 announced it is merging with Kelsey Trail Trucking, which has locations in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Innisfil, Ontario.
