U.S. Class 8 retail sales closed in on nearly two years of year-over-year declines in April, according to data from Wards Intelligence.

Used Class 8 truck sales for March increased on a year-over-year basis, but prices declined amid shifting market conditions, ACT Research reported.

Preliminary data showed orders decreased 52.1% year over year to 7,600 units from 15,850. They also fell 53.9% sequentially when compared to the 16,500 units in March.

U.S. retail sales of medium-duty trucks continued to trend below year-ago comparisons in February after a short-lived uptick the prior month, according to data from Wards Intelligence.

North American Class 8 truck orders in February remained below year-ago comparisons for a second consecutive month after a short uptick in December, according to ACT Research.

Used Class 8 truck sales beat sequential and year-ago comparisons in January, ACT Research reported.

U.S. retail sales of medium-duty trucks started off the year with a slight uptick compared with January 2024, according to data from Wards Intelligence.

The back half of last year mostly trended below prior-year comparisons but ended on a predictable uptick. That has since settled back to another year-over-year decline.

North American Class 8 truck orders jumped in December compared with the same month a year earlier, according to ACT Research, for the first such increase since May.

Used Class 8 truck sales in October increased 10.7% year over year to 23,800 units from 21,500, ACT Research reported.
