The deal will now be further negotiated by EU trade representatives Maroš Šefčovič and his U.S. counterpart Jamieson Greer, who are meeting March 27.

Rattled by President Trump's aggression toward Greenland, the EU is readying countermeasures against the U.S., including the  “trade bazooka" touted by French President Emmanuel Macron.

EU trade ministers agreed July 14 that U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of 30% tariffs on the European Union was “absolutely unacceptable," and they are studying a new set of countermeasures to respond to the move.
