Jobless Claims Plunge to Five-Month Low

New applications for unemployment insurance in the United States plunged 29,000 to 386,000 in the week ended July 19, moving below the key 400,000 level for the first time since Feb. 8, the Labor Department reported Thursday.

NHTSA: 4,000 Monon Trailers Have 'Manufacturing Defect'

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said an estimated 4,000 trailers built by defunct Monon Corp. may break and separate from the tractor. The agency said it has located 40% of the trailers, leaving about 60% unaccounted for.
