Testing of Daimler Truck’s prototype Mercedes-Benz GenH2 truck is set to enter a new phase with a second group of carriers, the parent company of Freightliner and Western Star said.

Hyundai Translead expects between 50 and 100 to reach the U.S. next year, and forecasts that number to grow in 2027 and beyond, a spokeswoman said in an email.

The tractors will be Talke’s first low- or zero-emissions Class 8 semis and will be used for drayage runs in the Houston area. The trucks are expected to have a range of 300 to 350 miles.
