Congress has begun assembling fiscal 2027 funding bills as lawmakers wait for the White House’s budget request and continue to negotiate an end to the DHS shutdown.

The Republican-controlled House overwhelmingly passed annual funding measures Jan. 22, reversing some of Donald Trump’s most controversial federal spending cuts.
