November’s midterms will hinge in part on Americans’ attitudes toward the cost of living, and polls show the president is getting poor economic marks.

The growth was largely supported by India’s push into markets like China, although there was also a sharp rebound in shipments to its biggest export destination, the U.S.

The world’s biggest farm machinery maker said in a statement to Bloomberg that it “has kept focus on supporting our customers and helping them build for the long haul.” 

While China's shipments to the U.S. plummeted 29% in November, strong growth in sales to regions like the European Union and Africa more than offset the slump.

Statistics Canada said it will not publish October trade data as was scheduled on Dec. 4. The agency had previously confirmed September numbers would be postponed.

Tariffs appear somewhat limited in their ability to control what American firms import, as China’s sway over sectors such as rare earths and electronics makes its products hard to dislodge.

The deficit for the fiscal year was $1.78 trillion, down from $1.82 trillion in 2024, a drop of 2%, according to figures released by the Treasury Department Oct. 16.

Overall sales abroad rose 4.4% in August from a year earlier to $322 billion, according to a statement from the General Administration of Customs on Sept. 8.

The surge in imports was driven by industrial supplies, which rose to the highest level in four months amid a surge in inbound shipments of gold.
