LAS VEGAS — Daimler Trucks North America supports the federal Phase 2 greenhouse-gas rule for trucks and almost certainly will not challenge it in court.

HANOVER, Germany — Daimler Trucks focused on improving urban transportation during its media event ahead of the IAA commercial vehicles show, presenting three electric concept vehicles.

YOUNTVILLE, Calif. — Daimler Trucks North America announced its Detroit-branded DD5 medium-duty engine will officially hit the market later this year in the Freightliner M2 106 truck model.

Daimler AG, the world’s largest truck manufacturer, reported that second-quarter net profit rose 3% to $2.64 billion — or $2.50 per diluted share — powered by sales of cars and vans even as U.S. orders for medium- and heavy-duty trucks plunged.
