Existing homes sales rose for the third straight month in June, the National Association of Realtors said Thursday.

Vitran Corp. said Thursday its second-quarter income fell to $400,000, or 3 cents a share, compared with $4.6 million, or 34 cents, a year ago.

Union Pacific Corp.’s second-quarter profit fell 12% to $468 million, or 92 cents per share, from $531 million, or $1.02, a year ago.

Truck dealership Rush Enterprises lost $1.5 million, or 4 cents a share, compared with net income of $6.1 million, 16 cents, in the same quarter last year.

Truckload carrier Knight Transportation’s second-quarter profit was about even with a year ago at $12.6 million, or 15 cents a share, compared with last year’s $12.7 million, or 15 cents.

Hub Group Inc. said late Wednesday its second-quarter net income fell to $8.3 million, or 22 cents a share, from $15 million, or 40 cents, a year ago.

Third-party logistics firm C.H. Robinson Worldwide said that it had acquired London-based Walker Logistics Overseas, an international freight forwarder.

Illinois has joined the 49 other states in adopting a uniform 80,000-pound truck weight limit law for state routes and other local roads.
