Yokohama Tire Corp. will display 10 tire models at its Mid-America Trucking Show display booth in Louisville, Kentucky. All of the tires meet the standards of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency鈥檚 SmartWay program.
鈥淵okohama鈥檚 been a big proponent of . . . SmartWay program for many years,鈥 said Rick Phillips, a Yokohama vice president. Phillips said the tires met SmartWay鈥檚 low- rolling-resistance criteria because they run cooler and help reduce fuel consumption.
The Yokohama lineup at MATS will include two models of ultra-wide-base tires, three types of drive-axle tires, three models of steer-axle tires and two types of trailer tires.
The company is a part of Japan鈥檚 Yokohama Rubber Co. U.S. operations are based in Santa Ana, California.
