XRS Corp. said it has released a platform for fleet optimization and compliance that can run on more than 50 types of mobile devices.
The new XRS platform transmits vehicle and operator data to a management dashboard and records hours of service, providing compliance with new mandates, the company said.
The platform, currently in limited release, uses only a small relay device that connects with the truck’s computer and communicates with the driver’s mobile device through Bluetooth.
“Expensive, hard-wired on-board displays are rapidly disappearing, while mobile technology is poised to help thousands of transportation innovators create customized, flexible fleet management systems with almost immediate return-on-investment,” said Jay Coughlan, chief executive officer, XRS Corp.
XRS Corp., , at that time first unveiled the platform, the successor to its Xata Turnpike.
