Volvo Trucks Opens Applications for Fleet Safety Award

Volvo Trucks is taking nominations for the Volvo Trucks Safety Award, an annual competition that honors two fleets with exceptional driving records.
Each of the winning fleets will receive $25,000 when Volvo announces the awards at American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference & Exhibition in October, Volvo said Jan. 28.
“Safety is a top issue each year for Volvo Trucks and the entire industry,” Göran Nyberg, president of North American sales and marketing, said in a statement. Michelin Americas Truck Tires also sponsors the award.
The contest is open to all fleets in the United States and Canada with at least five trucks, one of which is a Volvo. Winners will be selected in two fleet mileage categories based on crash rates and crash prevention activities.
