Union Pacific’s 2Q Earnings Jump

Revenue for Quarter Tops $4 Billion

Freight railroad Union Pacific Corp.’s second-quarter earnings jumped 14% to $446 million or $1.65 a share, from $390 million or $1.44 a year ago.

Revenue rose 3% to a record $4.05 billion, the company said Thursday.

Intermodal revenue rose 3% for the quarter, UP said.

Union Pacific, which operates west of the Mississippi River, is the nation’s largest railroad by revenue.
