Transportation Solutions Enterprises said Tuesday it has acquired Chicago-based logistics firm The Treppel Group LLC. Terms were not disclosed.

TSE said The Treppel Group’s rail and intermodal services will complement its other transportation companies that include truckload carrier Freight Exchange of North America and warehousing and freight forwarding firm Defined Logistics.

“To become a true mid market, full-logistics player, we need to continually enhance our infrastructure and strengthen our service lines,” Todd Berger, CEO of TSE, said in a statement.

“The acquisition of The Treppel Group allows us to do just that, while building on our current growth trajectory,” he said.

The Treppel Group was founded by Jeff Leppert in 2008 with one truck offering container drayage.
