Trimble Navigation has completed its purchase of commercial vehicle mobile communications firm PeopleNet Communications Corp., said Norwest Equity Partners, PeopleNet’s former owner.

Trimble, Sunnyvale, Calif., announced July 20 that it had signed an agreement to purchase PeopleNet.

PeoeNet, Minnetonka, Minn., was founded in 1994 to offer Internet-based and integrated onboard computing and mobile communications to the transportation industry.
