ATLANTA — Transit Group announced Wednesday that it had completed the acquisition of Priority Transportation, a privately held truckload carrier based in Olive Branch, Miss.

Transit Group said the acquisition is valued at approzimately $4.75 million, and will be funded by the issuance of about 800,000 shares of its common stock and payment of $750,000.

This is Transit Group's twelft acquisition since 1997.
