Carrier Logistics Inc., a provider of transportation management software for less-than-truckload carriers, has been acquired by midmarket private equity firm STG Partners in a move aimed at accelerating the development of agentic artificial intelligence, the companies announced April 13.
STG said the investment is intended to speed product innovation at CLI by integrating advanced agentic AI frameworks into the company鈥檚 core architecture. The goal is to build an AI-native operating system for terminal-based motor carriers in the LTL and last-mile sectors, the companies said.
Carrier Logistics President Ben Wiesen said the investment will support AI-driven tools designed to help CLI鈥檚 customers remain competitive. The platform will emphasize AI agents capable of autonomous dispatch and routing, managing routine logistics and optimizing terminal operations, including predictive modeling for dock workflows to reduce dwell time.
鈥淐LI has always been dedicated to the success of our carriers,鈥 Wiesen said. 鈥淛oining forces with STG allows our existing team of industry experts to continue to serve customers through enhanced support capabilities.鈥

鈥淲e believe the LTL industry is at an inflection point where data is plentiful, but actionable intelligence is scarce,鈥 said Rushi Kulkarni, managing director of lower midmarket Allegro strategy at STG. 鈥淥ur goal is to provide carriers with an agentic platform that automates the mundane and optimizes the complex, keeping the human operator at the center of the most critical decisions.鈥
