Ryder to Test New 2007 Engines, Create Plans for Upkeep, Pricing
UCSON, Ariz. — Truck renting and leasing giant Ryder System said it would begin testing a series of regulatory-compliant engines during the last quarter of this year, and then establish a working maintenance and pricing plan for the new engines by the time tougher emission standards take effect in 2007.
Jim Salas of Ryder, Miami, said at the Truck Renting and Leasing Association’s annual meeting here April 7 that it would take delivery of engine prototypes by July.
