Roadrunner Purchases Flatbed Carrier
Roadrunner Transportation Systems said it has purchased D&E Transport, an asset-light flatbed carrier, for $11.2 million.
D&E, based in Clearwater, Minn., primarily transports food and agricultural products, Roadrunner said in a statement late Thursday.
Roadrunner CEO Mark DiBlasi said the acquisition of D&E broadens the service offerings within Roadrunner’s truckload and logistics segment while expanding the company’s flatbed capacity and customer base.
In 2011, D&E generated $23.8 million in revenue. Roadrunner said it expects the acquisition to be accretive to its earnings in 2012.
