Roadcheck ’07 Wraps Up Thursday
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s annual 72-hour Roadcheck truck-inspection blitz wraps up its three-day run on Thursday.
Throughout North America, about 10,000 certified officers are inspecting trucks and drivers in Roadcheck 2007, an annual effort to prevent truck crashes and save lives, according to CVSA, which represents law-enforcement truck inspectors in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
American Trucking Associations said it has consistently supported the Roadcheck effort and worked with CVSA this year in developing its Roadcheck brochure and podcast.
This year, CVSA’s inspections will be mainly Level I inspections involving a comprehensive 37-step procedure which includes items related to vehicle, driver and cargo safety.
Inspectors will also hand out educational materials to drivers on various aspects of commercial vehicle, driver and hazardous materials safety.
