Consumers’ personal spending did not change in June, the Commerce Department said Tuesday.

Economists had predicted a 0.1% increase after May’s 0.1% gain, Bloomberg reported.

Personal incomes rose to 6.4%, the highest level in a year, Commerce said.

An increase in consumer spending could increase demand for new factory goods and the trucking shipments that get them to stores.
