Oil fell early Monday after closing Friday at a one-year low $79.20 a barrel, Bloomberg reported.

Crude futures fell almost $2 in early New York Mercantile Exchange trading to as low as $77.36 a barrel, on continued concerns over Greek and European debt, Bloomberg said,

Friday’s closing price was the lowest since Sept. 29, 2010, when oil finished at $77.86 a barrel.

Friday was just the third time in August and September that crude finished below $80 a barrel on the Nymex, according to Bloomberg figures.

Diesel and gasoline pump prices have both declined for the past three weeks. The Department of Energy will release its weekly survey of filling stations Monday afternoon in Washington.
