Neste Renewable Diesel First to Gain Industry Certification
Helsinki-based Neste Corp. announced its renewable diesel brand, Neste MY Renewable Diesel, is the first to receive the industry鈥檚 Top Tier Diesel Fuel certification for its quality and performance.
The standard, introduced in 2017, has been endorsed by many engine manufacturers, including General Motors, Volkswagen, Detroit Diesel, Navistar Inc. and Ford Motor Co.
The certification 鈥渇ully puts to rest the false view that using a low-carbon, sustainable fuel requires sacrificing performance,鈥 said Matt Leuck, technical manager of renewable road transportation in North America at Neste.
Neste expands the renewables offering by launching Neste My Renewable Diesel into the Belgian market. The fuel, made of 100% renewable raw materials, is currently available at more than 500 locations worldwide. Read more:

Neste MY Renewable Diesel is available in the United States at more than 1,400 delivery points across California and Oregon. Additionally, it is available in Europe in Belgium, Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Rebecca Monroe, fuel trademark lead at Top Tier, said, 鈥淥ur standards were developed to ensure better fuel quality for diesel fuel retailers, auto and engine manufacturers. As the first renewable diesel certified by Top Tier, Neste MY Renewable Diesel meets all of the requirements without needing any deposit control additives.鈥
In the last decade, the company noted it supplied over 1.6 billion gallons of renewable diesel into California, and was one of the first companies to introduce renewable diesel into Oregon after the state adopted its Clean Fuels Program.
鈥淩enewable diesel is truly a 鈥榙rop-in鈥 fuel as it meets the same ASTM D975 standard for petroleum diesel,鈥 said Alissa Recker, catalyst and fuels engineer at Detroit, a unit of Daimler Trucks North America.
Currently, Neste reported it produces more than 1 billion gallons of renewable products annually and is on track to increase its production capacity to 1.5 billion in 2023. 鈥 Transport Topics
