N.C. Diesel, Gasoline Taxes to Rise 2.5 Cents in July

Motor carriers filling up in North Carolina will be paying 2.5 cents more in diesel taxes beginning July 1.

The state鈥檚 legislature took no action on an automatic recalculation of the state鈥檚 fuel tax before ending their five-month session on June 19, according to the Associated Press.

Therefore, the state鈥檚 tax on gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuels will rise to 35 cents per gallon from 32.5 cents, from July 1 through Dec. 31, according to North Carolina Department of Revenue鈥檚 website.
