[Stay on top of transportation news: .]
Trucking technology provider and fleet maintenance specialist will expand their partnership, the companies said Aug. 27. Motive and Fleetio began working together in 2018.
The companies鈥 expanded integration will see a centralization of fuel, maintenance and telematics data across their systems through two products:
鈥 Two-Way Driver Vehicle Inspection Report Sync: Through the upgrade, when a defect is resolved in Fleetio, the corresponding DVIR defect in Motive automatically closes, allowing managers to act quickly and prevent unsafe dispatches.
鈥 Motive Card Fuel Sync: Motive Card fuel transactions will now be automatically imported into Fleetio, giving fleets a single source of cost tracking, budgeting and International Fuel Tax Agreement reporting.
Rising fuel prices. Technician shortages. More complex vehicle systems.
For fleets, these safety and efficiency challenges make it harder鈥攁nd costlier鈥攖han ever to keep vehicles on the road. The Motive x integration provides a connected, automated view of fuel,鈥 鈥 Motive (@Motive_inc)
The changes will help eliminate manual tasks, strengthen safety and compliance, and give fleets greater insight into fuel and maintenance operating costs, the partners said.
鈥淭his integration brings together fuel, telematics and maintenance data in a way that helps companies not just react to challenges, but get ahead of them,鈥 said Stefano Daneri, fleet ecosystem strategist at Fleetio. 鈥淚t鈥檚 all about turning data into action, action into uptime and uptime into long-term performance.鈥
鈥淢otive鈥檚 mission is to empower the people who run physical operations with AI-powered tools that make their work safer and more productive,鈥 said Motive Chief Product Officer Hemant Banavar. 鈥淭his integration advances that mission by uniting our AI-driven insights with Fleetio鈥檚 maintenance expertise 鈥 seamlessly connecting two mission-critical systems to help fleets operate at peak performance.鈥
+ Motive has expanded its integration to sync DVIRs and fuel data, providing fleets with clearer visibility and reduced manual work.

By working together, the companies say fleets can obtain smarter benchmarking, predictive insights and artificial intelligence-driven automation to cut costs and boost compliance, while at the same time maximizing safety and efficiency.
Reducing maintenance costs and increasing preventive maintenance has become key in maximizing uptime and trimming fleet expenses, especially during a freight recession that continues to squeeze margins.
The found in data released in July that when lower fuel expenses were stripped out, the cost of operating a truck rose in 2024.
Meanwhile, timely truck maintenance is becoming tougher and tougher, with repair shops substantially understaffed and the ratio of drivers to technicians widening, separate ATRI research found.
Fleetio鈥檚 cloud-based software is used across more than 100,000 repair shops after its March acquisition of Auto Integrate, which specializes in maintenance authorization.
Motive also is expanding its operations, raising $150 million in extra funding in July to grow its AI capabilities. The San Francisco-based company also plans to go public.
