Initial jobless claims rose by 26,000 last week from a three-year low, the Labor Department reported Thursday.

The increase to 397,000 new claims for the week ended Saturday was higher than economists’ forecasts of 376,000, Bloomberg reported.

Continuing claims for the previous week ended Feb. 26 fell by 20,000 from a week earlier, to 3.77 million.
