Industrial production rose 0.5% in November, the Federal Reserve said Friday.

The gain in production at factories, mines and utilities followed a revised 0.7% drop in October.

Economists had forecast a 0.2% increase, Bloomberg reported.

The share of industrial capacity in use rose to 81.5% from 81.4% a month earlier, the Fed said.
