Import Prices Fall for First Time in Six Months

The price of goods imported to the United States fell 0.7% in July, the first decline in six months, the Labor Department said Thursday.

The decline followed a revised 2.8% increase in June. Prices excluding fuels fell 0.2%. Export prices fell 0.3%.

Economists had forecast prices would fall 0.5%, Bloomberg reported.
