fter -month search, the Illinois Trucking Association announced it had hired George Billows as executive director.

As director, he would concentrate on customer service, increasing association membership and ITA’s lobbying efforts, Billows said.

“Customer services has been a big issue for me,” he said. “We hope to bring a whole new era to them in terms of our Web site and our interactive capabilities to the customer.”

Billows, who worked for Roadway Corp. for 32 years, started as a dock supervisor in Chicago and retired in July 2002 as the district supervisor for most of the upper Midwest.
