Hub Group Buys Drayage Carrier Domestic Transport
Intermodal and logistics firm Hub Group Inc. said Monday it has acquired Pacific, Wash., drayage carrier Domestic Transport. Terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition was by Hub Group subsidiary Comtrak Logistics.
鈥淭his acquisition is well aligned with our goal of growing Hub Group鈥檚 drayage network,鈥 Chris Kravas, Hub Group鈥檚 chief intermodal officer, said in a statement. 鈥淭his is the 25th Comtrak terminal in our network and it gives us a significant drayage operation in the Seattle market.鈥
Domestic Transport was founded in 2005 with one truck hauling containers out of the ports of Seattle and Tacoma, and has since grown to a 22-driver operation that handles container deliveries in the state of Washington and throughout the Pacific Northwest.听
鈥淲e were very impressed with the high quality standards that Domestic Transport maintained for its drivers,鈥 Comtrak Logistics President Jim Ronchetto said.
Domestic Transport owners Leon Borodyansky and Kirill Korchinsky will remain with the company, with Borodyansky becoming terminal manager and Korchinsky assuming the post of safety and recruiting manager.
