Goodyear Opens Office in Silicon Valley
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has opened its first office in California鈥檚 Silicon Valley to connect with automakers and technology firms that are developing autonomous vehicles and ride-sharing fleets.
鈥淧eople don鈥檛 immediately associate tires with the digital transformation in the automotive industry,鈥 Goodyear Chief Technology Officer Chris Helsel said in a statement Sept. 1. 鈥淏ut we see an unprecedented opportunity for tire electronics and information systems to improve vehicle performance, safety and, ultimately, the consumer experience.鈥

The new office is in Sunnyvale at the Plug and Play TechCenter and will be an extension of the company鈥檚 innovation centers in Akron, Ohio, and Colmar-Berg in Luxembourg.
