Gasoline’s national average rose 12 cents in the past two weeks to a national average $3.88 per gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

Mid- and premium-grade gasoline also rose 12 cents each, to $4.02, and 3 per gallon, respectively.

Diesel’s average jumped a dime to $4.19 per gallon, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her twice-monthly report.

Tucson, Ariz., had the lowest gas average among cities surveyed, at $3.54, while Chicago had the highest, at $4.27 per gallon.

Oil spiked past $112 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange Thursday, close to the more than two-and-a-half year high set three weeks ago, Bloomberg reported.

The Department of Energy will release its weekly survey of diesel and gasoline prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
