Gas Increase Slows, Rising 1.8¢ in Two Weeks
Gasoline’s national average price rose 1.8 cents over the two weeks ended Friday, to an average $1.96 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.
The increase followed 2.6-cent and 8-cent increases reported in the last two surveys, which are released twice a month.
Gas has risen about 30 cents from its low at the end of last year but is about $2.157 below the all-time high of $4.114 set last July.
The highest price for self-serve regular gasoline was $2.38 in Honolulu, while the lowest was in Cheyenne, Wyo., at $1.67, the survey said.
The Energy Department comes out with its weekly survey of gasoline and diesel fuel pump prices Monday afternoon.
