Forward Air to Acquire Service Express
Forward Air Corp. said Monday its wholly owned subsidiary, Forward Air Solutions Inc., has entered into an agreement to acquire certain assets of Service Express, a privately held provider of pool distribution and related services headquartered in Spartanburg, S.C.
Service Express generated about $39 million in revenue last year, and the transaction is scheduled to close by Sept. 8, Forward Air said in a statement. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We are pleased to add another quality carrier . . . to our Forward Air Solutions group,” Forward Air Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bruce Campbell said in a statement.
Forward Air Corp. is ranked No. 65 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
