Expeditors’ Third-Quarter Profit Improves

Logistics firm Expeditors International of Washington said Tuesday its third-quarter profit rose 11% to $107 million, or 50 cents a share, from $96 million, or 44 cents, a year ago.

Revenue declined 4% from a year ago to $1.61 billion.

Year-over-year airfreight volume declined 4%, while ocean freight volume dipped 2%, the company said in a statement.

Seattle-based Expeditors International of Washington is ranked No. 19 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of North American logistics companies.
