Existing homes sales fell 1% in April, the National Association of Realtors said Friday.

Sales fell to an annual rate of 4.89 million, NAR said. The median price fell 8% from April of a year ago.

Economists had forecast home resales would fall 1.6% to a 4.85 million rate, Bloomberg reported.
