Existing homes sales fell in July for a fifth straight month, the National Association of Realtors said Monday.

Purchases dipped 0.2% to an annual rate of 5.75 million units, from 5.76 million in June, the lowest rate since November 2002, NAR said.

Sales were down 9% compared with a year ago, the group said.
