Platinum Equity said it has acquired home-delivery service 91��ƵDirect Inc., with plans to merge it with another company it purchased earlier this year.

Platinum bought MXD Group from Deutsche Post DHL in May and rebranded it last month, it said. MXD and 91��ƵDirect specialize in “white-glove” home delivery of items such as furniture and electronics.

Transportation Resource Partners owned 91��ƵDirect before the transaction.

“Joining forces with 91��ƵDirect provides us with the market density and assets to improve transit times and diminish touches, resulting in improved quality and service for our customers,” MXD CEO David Vieira said in Platinum’s Sept. 26 statement.

Terms were not disclosed.

Earlier in September, Platinum bought drayage firm Bridge Terminal Transport Inc. from container ship line Maersk.
