Orange EV said its retrofitted electric terminal truck completed a two-week demonstration at a Kansas intermodal facility.

The T-Series electric terminal completed more than 400 runs, lifting and pulling a gross combined weight rating of 81,000 pounds, according to Orange.

During the test, the terminal truck鈥檚 battery operated 10 hours or more on a single charge, according to the company.

The retrofitted terminal truck has a replaced powertrain and control system, and the company refurbishes the rest of the truck.

The demonstration took place at ITS Technology & Logistics鈥 intermodal facility in Edgerton, Kansas.

鈥淲e needed to see that Orange EV鈥檚 all-electric terminal truck could do the job and get through a shift on a single charge. They鈥檝e convinced our team,鈥 Ron Teague, ITS senior vice president of intermodal operation, said in a statement. 鈥淥range EV鈥檚 T-Series demonstrated it has the endurance and the power we need.鈥

鈥淲e applaud the leadership of ITS as they move to electric vehicles,鈥 Kurt Neutgens, Orange EV president and chief technology officer, said in a statement. 鈥淚t鈥檚 one thing for us to claim the T-Series can perform. It鈥檚 entirely another when a customer proves it.鈥
