Election Shifts Hill Agenda

| Staff Reporterhe federal election last week, which gave Democrats control of Congress for the first time since 1994, will shake up the Hill’s legislative agen well as the Capitol’s lead-ership, observers told Transport Topics.
Democratic officials said they intended to look at several issues, including homeland security — and specifically at ports — and exercise greater oversight over a number of federal agencies.“Obviously, it’s going to result in a lot of changes,” said Tim Lynch, senior vice president of federation relations and strategic planning for American Trucking Associations.
