An index of leading economic indicators by the most in eight months, the New York-based Conference Board said Friday.

The 1.1% increase for November topped October’s revised 0.4% and was the fifth straight gain. It matched economists’ forecasts, Bloomberg reported.

The LEI is closely watched by trucking companies because it forecasts business activity for ext three to six months.
