The Idaho Transportation Department will receive $500,000 in federal aid to repair parts of听state听Highway 14 in Idaho County damaged by rock slides, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced Feb. 29.
A 500-foot portion of听Highway 14 between Grangeville and Elk City, Idaho was affected Feb. 18. According听DOT, the roadway provides access for residents of Elk City, Red River, Dixie and Orogrande during the winter.
鈥淓mergency relief funding will help the state repair and reopen [Highway] 14, which is the only access for several communities in the area,鈥 Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said.听 鈥淒OT will help get repairs under way as quickly as possible.鈥
