DHL Supply Chain North America Promotes Kunar to CEO

DHL Supply Chain North America promoted Mark Kunar to CEO, .
Kunar, previously DHL Supply Chain North America鈥檚 chief financial officer and chief strategy officer, replaced Patrick Kelleher. Kunar will report to Oscar de Bok, CEO of DHL Supply Chain.
DHL Supply Chain North America ranks No. 13 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest logistics companies in North America. The parent company ranks No. 5 on the TT Top 50 list of the largest global freight companies.
鈥淢ark鈥檚 broad supply chain and management expertise, paired with his proven commercial acumen and his balanced leadership style makes him the ideal candidate to take our business into the future in this key market,鈥 de Bok said.
Kunar joined DHL Supply Chain in 1996 as a financial analyst. He was promoted to chief strategy officer in 2024, with responsibilities including delivering on the core tenets of DHL鈥檚 鈥淪trategy 2030.鈥
That includes integrating DHL鈥檚 2025 acquisitions 鈥 returns specialist Inmar Supply Chain Solutions, white-glove logistics group Crypopdp and e-commerce logistics provider IDS Fulfillment.
DHL Supply Chain now has 52,000 employees.
Meanwhile, Kelleher will join GXO Logistics as CEO, the contract logistics provider said June 20. Kelleher starts his new job Aug. 19.
Malcolm Wilson announced his retirement as GXO CEO in December 2024. Wilson had been the top executive at GXO since the company launched in August 2021.
All three deals inked in 2025 aim to bolster DHL鈥檚 high-margin logistics business.
Customer satisfaction is a particular concern for the e-commerce leg of DHL鈥檚 growth drivers.
DHL鈥檚 Ecommerce Trends Report 2025 鈥 released at the end of June 鈥 indicated customers are especially likely to walk away from purchases if their preferred delivery method is unavailable.
DHL eCommerce provides domestic and international parcel delivery for high-volume business customers.

Starting July 1, the ultimate responsibility for DHL鈥檚 e-commerce operations in North America landed in the lap of Scott Ashbaugh.
Ashbaugh, who will be based in Weston, Fla., will report to Pablo Ciano, CEO of DHL eCommerce. Previously, he was chief commercial officer at the DHL Group division. Ashbaugh joined DHL in 2007.
Ashbaugh replaces Lee Spratt, who is retiring. Spratt had been in the post since 2014 and joined the company in 2004.
