Descartes Systems Group said it has acquired trade-data company Customs Info LLC in a deal valued at about $41.5 million.

Customs Info, based in Salt Lake City, provides trade data — such as trade tariffs, duties, regulations, trade agreements and rules of origin —to more than 800 multi-national shippers to help them reduce operating costs, improve customs compliance and streamline their operations, the buyer said June 2.

Descartes, headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, provides software-as-a-service focused on improving the productivity and security of its customers’ supply chains.

Descartes said Customs Info’s data will enhance its global logistics network.
